The Green Dragon (Derek and Gin RP)

"You're a long ways off from Sparring." yaya laughed. "An once youre ready you're gonna wish you wasnt." She patted the girls head. "Now go wash up and head to bed. It's late."

She nodded, "I can't get better if I don't spar, and I can promise you I will never wish I wasn't ready. It's something I enjoy." She said with a smiling taking her kitten to the deck, just to watch the stars for a while, actually falling asleep due to the gentle breeze.

She was eventually awoken by her pet trying to worm his way out of her arms.

Jin stood by the railing of the deck, his back to her as he watched the waves. The moon was up and shining down, making his hair seem to glow a dim purple. The Captain sighed softly, resting against the rail, his shoulders slumped over.

Ashe silently sat up letting Wyntir go, "You feeling better captain?" She asked softly, her voice a little scratchy from just waking up. She stood up and stretched.

Jin shook his head, straightening out though it caused him obvious discomfort. "Just wanted some fresh air is all." he said softly. He sounded tired.

Ashe almost seemed to frown. What could she do? "You know, there IS a recipe that my mom used to make that might make you feel better, it always perked my brother and me up when we were sick." She said, offering him a small bottle from a pouch that contained a bright orange liquid. "It has a kick, but it should make you feel a bit better, at least enough to actually ENJOY the fresh air." She said with a smile.

Jin shook his head after looking to the bottle. "Thank you but medicine won't help." He said simply, looking back out the waves.

He had dark circles under his eyes,as well as bruises on his wrists that hadn't been there earlier. She could see, now that she was right beside him, his legs trembling with effort just to keep him standing. "How is Wyntir fairing? He seems to have taken a liking to you." He mused, though didn't bother to look.

"He seems to be doing fine. And it's not medicine just so you know, it's a Maincalo fruit, it simply stimulates the body to make it feel better and get you over the hump, and I know why you're sick so it probably wouldn't hurt you to try...right?" She said, almost worry lacing her voice. The little kitten jumped onto her head and nuzzled into her hair.

Jin simpl shook his head again."If I eat or rink It'll only make things worse." he said with a frown. She caught his jaw clench and his hands tighten on the rail. He'd winced. "I'm going to bed." he announced, pushing away from the railing. "You ought to do the same."

She looked at him and nodded, "Yes sir....Sir, be careful." She said, walking to the railing where he had been previously and looked to the stars, almost asking for guidance. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep so she tried training Wyntir to do tricks and such.

The Captain remained absent form meals for the next three days.

A small section of the crew had begun to talk...

Finally, on the fourth day, Jin made his way down to the galley, dark purple circles under his eyes. His hair was in a tight braid and out of his way, with Lynn on his shoulder.
"Well, look who's decided to rejoin the world of the living." Derek greeted.
Jin muttered something and sat down. "Bwenhoho?" he raised an eyebrow, thanking whoever it was who handded him a tall glass.

It was Wyntir. He had had it balanced perfectly on his head and he rubbed up against Jin's arm softly, purring loudly. "Feeling a little better Captain?" Ashe asked, helping get the rest of the items on the table, one of her own special concoctions as far as breakfast went.

Jin nodded, downing the drink, followed by a sigh. "We'll be headed into a storm tonight." He announced. "Means get some rest for the remainder of the day, we'll need all hand son deck come night fall."

She looked at him, "I don't even know what to do on deck yet. I mean I know simple knots and such, but I don't know if I'd be of help or hindrance in a storm. In a storm you can't afford to have people who don't know what they're doing...." She said. She then remembered she had to go train with YaYa. She wanted to know what her magic was, maybe it would help with the storm!! She excused herself, waiting for him to dismiss her.

"Go." he nodded, handing her her cat-bunny-fox.

Upstairs, yaya was waiting for Ashe, holding a broom in each hand.

"Thank you sir!" She said smiling brightly and heading off.

"What's first ma'am?" She asked, looking at the two brooms. Ready to do anything.

"Catch." Yaya tossed one of the brooms to her. "First thing we do is clean. It's a good enough physical warm up- and we get some chores done. Then, we stretch and try to summon up your magic." She said nodding.

Ashe nodded and began to her jobs that were assign quickly, yet thoroughly. She refused to take any short cuts and she flat out refused to leave anything that didn't metaphorically sparkle when she was done with it. "Why do we need to warm up physically if we're doing magic?" She asked.

"Your body conducts the magic. If you aren't physically fit, the magic will tear you apart. In the same way, if you dont warm up, you can hurt yourself." Yaya said wisly, scrubbing the steps still.

"Makes sense." She continued to do the chores that needed to be done, feeling her excitement mounting and almost feeling like it was going to explode inside her.

"Alright then, girly, come here before your head rolls off." yaya called, laughing at Ashe's excitement.

"Now, close your eyes, and relax. I need you calm, for this. Noone wants the ship to accidently catch fire, now do they?"

Ashe chuckled and took a long, deep breath. Her eyes closed and her body seemed to visibly relax. She opened her eyes and looked at YaYa. "What next." She said smiling.

Yaya wacked the girl upside the head. "Did I say you could open your eyes?" She scolded. "Close um! Good and tight!"

After a few moments Yaya chuckled. "Now, hold your hands up infront of you, palm to palm. That's right. Keep your eyes closed girl, any peeking and I'll hit you again! So, then, focus on yourhands. try to imagine yourself pushing your hears into the gap if you will."

She made a small squeak as she giggled, "Sorry." She said and closed them. She did as was instructed. As she focused she got the image of a lightning bolt and sparks began to emit from her finger tips. The flow of energy was a brilliant blueish white as it connected and made a continuous circuit from her palm, up to her fingertips and back down. She remained focused, waiting for YaYa's instruction.

"Ye can open your eyes now." Yaya said, sounding pleased. "Take a look. See?"
