Over a week ago, a young man walked into the middle of the road, his identity a mystery, his memories in blank. No one knew where he'd come from, or of his reasons to have appeared in such a small town as Chance Harbor, Washington. Being helped by a kind, Veterinarian named Susan Pierce, the young man, called jokingly John Doe was re-adjusting to a life he never recalled having. After a while he seemed to pick up on things fast, and just to test his reasoning and using logics skill, Susan reluctantly decided to "test" the young man. He seemed capable enough to perform a task to its completion without failing. So she gave him a simple order: Go to the pet shop. Purchase some dog food. Return straight home. It shouldn't take more than an hour at most, she was sure the young man could fend for himself enough and complete this task well -but as a "mother" to him, over the short time she'd grown to know him, she still worried. But become independant was an absolute must, he needed to in order to survive in the world.

So off he went, one afternoon to complete her request. With a twenty in a pocket and his senses alert for anything, Aciel walked down the street, to get food for Icarus the little 2-year old tan and white, adorable Shorkie Susan owned. Normal as it should be, but for him things were never normal. And today wouldn't be any different.

As it was, just as he'd retrieved the goods and was only a block away from the pet shop he happened to walk right into trouble.

A young woman was pushed into the brick wall of the building, her arm twisted behind her by a towering man in a dingy, old, tattered coat and jeans. The two were in the alley and the masked man whispered to her fiercely in her ear. He was most likely demanding her to give him something or he would inflict even more pain toward her. Although she wasn't screaming, she did whimper slightly, her cheeks reddening as if embarrassed. This was the tiniest sound the angel heard.

After watching countless procedural cop shows, and other pointless crap on television he somehow knew this wasn't going to end well for her, unless he intercepted. Yet a memory of warning that the kind lady had taught him, as if he were a child and not a twenty-something with amnesia clouded his mind, making him hesitate:

"Whatever you do, don't force yourself into any dangerous situations, and always watch where you're going, I don't want you jumping into the streets anymore, you can get hurt."

But in seeing the girl's face, her amber eyes crying out to him for help, (though he felt that the right thing to do would be to walk away and go home to Miss Pierce,) there was an urge much stronger, insistent within. He couldn't give his back to this girl. Just as Miss Pierce had stopped to help him when noone else would, he had to help her, even if he got hurt. Placing the bag of pet food on the ground, just at the corner of the entrance to the alley, he straightened and ran in, reaching out with strong hands he gripped at the masked man and pulled hard. Yanking him away from the girl.

"Hey-" The masked man roared, both shocked and pissed, no one had ever stopped him before and this he didn't like. Though by the time this happened, he'd ripped the messenger bag she'd carried on her shoulder away from her, what was left for him to do now was shake this shmoe off his ass and run with the goods.

The other shoved the man onto the wall forcefully, then instinctively, brought a fist back and connected it into the man's face. Bone crunched and the familiar spurt of blood echoed in the empty alley.

The mugger stumbled, then remembering he still had a gun, he aimed it at the stranger and shot him on the shoulder. He was trying to shoot at his heart but missed.

The impact of the single bullet shocked him, surprisingly with pain -a new sensation he had yet to fully experience. This didn't agree well with him and it only made the dark feeling in him rise more. Pissed, he swiftly snapped a hand out with blinding rage toward the assault's gun hand, gripped at his wrist and twisted that arm, more bones snapped like a twig -literally, the white of it like a knife slicing out of his skin, even ripping through the fabric of the thin coat sleeve, along with a spurt of crimson. Shock had choked the man, the pain registered in his drug induced brain, he screamed but that didn't faze Aciel. He held onto the man's wrist, forcing it even more, little by little, pushing that bone out further to get the idiots' attention.

"Drop the bag." The words hissed through his clenched teeth as he applied more pressure, his azure eyes lit up barely unleashing the resentment burning him inside. More emotions he couldn't quite put a finger on --why was he feeling this way? And why did it hurt so damned much?

"You..sonuva-- Ahhh...!"

The mugger's body reeled against the terrible agony shooting up his body like volts of electricity, his dirty fingers twitched and the strap of the messenger bag slipped from his grasp, hitting the black top with a thud.

Aciel blinked at seeing the eyes of that man stare at him in absolute horror. He let go just as quickly as he'd grabbed him and he stepped back as though shocked himself at the damage he'd done. He felt a tightness in his throat and the fierce pounding of his heart as he watched the masked stranger stumbling to get away, hugging his broken arm to his chest, panicking like a terrified rat to flee. As soon as he was out of the other's reach, the mugger ran. Scat.

Aciel stood there, stunned, frozen for a good few minutes, he then dropped his eyes to the black and red messenger bag, bending over to reach for it, he picked it up before turning to the girl and handing it over to her. Meanwhile, his shoulder was throbbing in deep pain, and he somehow was able to keep it off his face. In a rough, almost whisper he asked, "Are you okay?"

The brisk cold gust of air swept through the alley, sending sharp pains into his injury, his thin coat provided no warmth against the chilling December breeze. He stiffened against the cold, trying to focus on this lady's face. She was younger, that was obvious, her youthfulness was quite appealing to him versus Miss Pierce's who was also pretty, but much older in his eyes. And though she was different, there was something about her face that hurt him. It wasn't physical, a pain he could bare, it was running deeper than that, something he couldn't understand or ignore and this too he tried not to think about. Maybe he didn't want to remember his past, and awaken bad memories, maybe he figured it'd be best if he never remembered at all if that meant it'd bring back painful feelings.

In short, he liked how things were now, even if he was lost.

The scene in its entirety seemed unreal to me. I could not talk, I could not move,
I could not struggle. The only sound able to escape my lips was a low, whining sound
I was not aware my throat could produce. This man, the lecherous and dangerous
gleam in his eye, it left my body numb and limbs frozen. I was helpless. I closed my
eyes, waiting for whatever was to happen to pass...

To my surprise, the groping stopped, and I forced my eyes open to see another figure,
his eyes honorable and strong. His lips parted and he spoke words I could not comprehend,
as my vision was now beginning to become dappled with bright silver specks that forced me
to shut my eyes once again.

It was then I heard an agonizing scream, which brought me to open my eyelids once again.
My gaze was met with an abhorrent sight, a sickening array of bone white and crimson red,
and a new found strength returned to my lungs. I let out a ghastly scream of my own, my
legs buckling and body sliding down the wall which had been holding my weight up.
My attacker ran off, clutching his bloodied arm, and my hero approached me--my purse
in hand.

Unfortunately I could only mutter the softest "thank you" as I felt myself slip into blissful
unconsciousness.

I lowered myself to her level, placed the strap in her palm and even helped the obviously rattled young woman to her feet.
She locked eyes with me and for that split second I felt as though I were gazing through twin orbs of bursting sunsets,
those eyes were breathtaking. She thanked me, I was sure I heard those gentle, pink lips whisper the gratitude and then,
so suddenly a flutter of beautiful full lashes swiped down, sealing shut the golden light that were her eyes.

She collapsed into my embrace and just like that I fell back into reality. This was not good.

A soft vibration buzzed somewhere within the folds of my coat and I reached inside to find a small silver device.
What was it called? A cell phone?

Reading the name on the display: Susan Pierce I tucked my thumb beneath the cover and flipped it open,
remembering to bring the object to my ear and I heard a familiar voice -- "John? John can you hear me?"
Everything from that point on seemed like a blur, a confusing stream of sound, voices, emotions heightening all around
me and I almost lost it, but soon Susan appeared and she rushed at my side, her expression not exactly cheerful, even
her soft voice heavy with fear, concern and something more I failed to recognize. In all of this I never mentioned to her
my injury, or that it had soon healed on its own moments later. When she had insisted that we return into her car and go
I urged her to take me where the lady was being taken to so frantically. I didn't know how or why, but I felt just as frightened.
Just as shaken for her well being.

She agreed to do so.

"Are you sure that's all that happened?" A uniformed cop questioned me still suspicious of me.
"Yes, she just fell asleep, and I brought her here. She'll be alright...?" I expressed, genuinely concerned.
"Yes, she's fine." He looked away and released a breath, relieved I could only assume, Susan appeared then,
settling a hand on my shoulder, steering me off to the waiting room, we were at the hospital.

The police kept giving me weird, suspicious stares, and even the doctors, I imagined they were wondering why
I had her, why I had involved myself in this situation uncalled for? Had I made things worse for Miss Pierce?
For this lady with the golden eyes?

The right reaction would be to feel remorse, but I didn't feel so, I had no regrets, I was certain that I had done
the correct thing, even if they all disagreed.

When the nurses and doctors came and started to converse with Susan, I managed to slip away and
somehow I found the lady with the beautiful eyes in a room, lying in bed. I kept myself hidden, peeking
in to see that someone else was there with her, maybe a friend. When this person left, I walked in, closing
the door behind me. I approached the bed and stood there just an arm's reach from her. Every muscle in my
body wanted to move closer, maybe touch her face, feel the silken strands of her fair tresses, but I feared that if
I did such, I may hurt her --like I did to that man who I'd heard had been caught by the law enforcement.

"I'm sorry..." I whispered, squeezing my hands into tight fists in my coat pocket. It was all I could do to keep
control, I was able to hold on in front of them, in front of Miss Pierce, but here, now, I was trembling.

And the worst part, I had no idea why.

ooc: I guess I'm switching POV as well if you don't mind. I think the story & role play would flow easier that way don't you think?❤

I suppose I could begin at the moment I awakened, the moment I beheld the man whose cerulean eyes
brought me back to the warm sea I'd lived near as a child, but my bruised body would not allow me to open
my eyes right away. Instead I laid motionless and silent, listening as first my little brother Danny had
entered to check on me, then my best friend Emily. She'd pulled Danny out of school once she'd heard the
news, and while I imagined she tried to stay strong alongside my brother, the moment she found herself
alone with me she burst into tears.

I wanted to console her, to tell her that everything was okay and I was just fine. I wanted to tell her I had
been saved by a stunning yet strange man, but my lashes felt heavy and my lids refused to open.
Would I ever wake up?

After several minutes, once Emily had regained her composure, she promised to take care of Danny until
I had healed. I could feel my lips turn upward ever so slightly, my smile an attempt to show my friend I
was relieved by her words, but she didn't seem to notice. With that she walked out, and I listened until her
footsteps fell faint and eventually disappeared altogether.

My brother was safe, I could rest easy now, but my brain refused. Why was my body revolting against
me so? The image of the man's face, my hero's face, burned brightly within my mind, and I found myself
filled with questions I could not ask. I doubted I'd ever see him again, but I could never forget the way
he looked down upon me. His bright orbs held a whirlpool of mixed emotions, some of which I'd identified
as alarm, worry, compassion, and sheer awe. Most of all, however, I noticed the terror and hesitation
that seemed to overwhelm him. How could such beautiful eyes be burdened with so many fears? I let out
a small sigh and forced the thoughts away. I needed rest or I'd never wake up...

At that moment I heard the door open again, and a pair of footsteps made their way to my bedside.
Who could it be now? They were much too heavy to be Danny's or Emily's. It was then I heard a voice
I never thought would grace my ears again, a rattled apology that alarmingly flung my once leaden
eyelids wide open. I gazed up, my breath escaped me--I could only stare, mesmerized.

((Yes, I agree!))

I couldn't help this overwhelming feeling consuming my insides, it was like a fire burning
inside me, my heart was swelling so much, and when she looked at me...

I don't know what happened, suddenly the small space in between us shortened, I was
hovering above her, like an angel? My hand I saw reach out to her, gently I felt her flesh at
my finger tips, I wanted to some how, rid her of her pain, make it all go away. When I touched
her I saw it unfold before me in an instant. Her pale face was touched by a healthier
complexion, the fatigue in her eyes vanished, her entire body seemed to glow, brimming with vitality and
renewed strength.

I was so shocked, I shrank away from her, staring down at my hand I
thought I would see something strange, but it was pretty normal. What was I thinking?

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have came here," I told her, edging away to the door about to
depart from her life. I should have just left her alone, I have no idea what I did to her, what
if I hurt her? My mind was spinning, the heat in me making my limbs tremble a little, I think
it would be best if I left her.

OOC: Basically he healed her completely, so she wouldn't have to stay in the hospital at all anymore. XD

His eyes...why did he look so forlorn? So terrified? My lips parted, and I watched as he
came closer, closer, closer...I felt his gentle, cool hand upon my cheek, and as I gazed
up at him in awe he quickly shot backward toward the door.

"No, I-" I blurted out, shooting from my bed into an upright position. With that I
was caught by surprise, and the glowing I had seen an instant earlier flashed
across my mind once again. It had been warm, comforting, and as I sat up now I
realized any pain I once had was now ridden. I no longer felt cold, heavy, weak--I
felt absolutely renewed. I reached toward him as he hesitated in front of the exit.

"Please wait. I-well...I feel much better now," I smiled softly, bring my outstretched
arm back to my side and motioning him to take a seat beside my hospital bed.
"Please stay for a while. You know, I would very much like to thank you."

She was alright? So I hadn't harmed her?

Relief flooded me like ocean waves, making the fear in me virtually vanish. Was this
what fear felt like? I thought so, I couldn't recall ever experiencing such a powerful
\emotion, now I understood what the little people inside the rectangle box were talking
about when they said they were afraid of something, for someone. Was I afraid for her?
Why? Also, why did I want to stick around here? I could sense the souls of others release
from their physical beings as death flowed by, I didn't know how I could recognize this
sensation, much less even determine what it meant. Perhaps my mind was slowly grasping
at lost memories.

But most importantly, why would she want to stay in such a sad environment as this
hospital for any longer than need be...? She did say she was well now.

"You wish for me to stay?"

I edged closer to her.

The footsteps outside became louder, more urgent as they rushed right to the door
leading into this room, I could smell Miss Pierce's floral perfume and the sweat that
permeated from one of the doctors that had treated this girl with the gold eyes. The door
opened.

"John there you are!" came Miss Pierce's alarmed voice, her eyes wide like saucers as
she rushed in, I noticed the color drained from her face, and could slightly detect the
pounding of her heart. She too was afraid, but I had yet to discover what caused her
affliction. Her hand snatched my wrist, gripping me strongly, she lead me out of the room,
and I reluctantly allowed her to.

I glanced back at the lady, and offered her a smile, I could feel it on my lips, though
I never felt it in my heart. I wanted to be with her, even if we were in a place where t
he sick and wounded died all around us.

"I can't believe you did this to me John, pulling a disappearing act on me with all that's
happening." Miss Pierce was saying as she walked briskly with me down the corridor that
was a buzz with other people, rushing to and fro, some anxious, others I couldn't recognize
what emotion they had on their faces, but there eyes told me it wasn't any good.

"I wanted to see if she was okay." I answered her quietly, sensing her disappointment
and unhappiness. "I apologize for my disappearing on you ma'am, but I just had to know
if she was alive..."

"Next time I would really like for you to tell me."

"I will." I told her with permanence.

That night I was awake while Miss Pierce and her dog were dreaming. I didn't know why,
but I couldn't do what she did, just lay there for hours without doing anything at all, she
had told me it was important, and I believed her. She seemed to look better after she
would do this sleeping thing, even the little Icarus awoke just as perky. I couldn't
understand what causes this mystery, though she had explained it before, a sensation that
there was no more energy within, like your body slows and then your eyes feel heavy, and
they just close by themselves. Why couldn't I sleep? Escape this world into another
of dreams? Were they pleasant? Would they be for me? Whenever I was asked if I had
slept and when I'd tell her I hadn't she would make a strange face, her brows would
wrinkle in the space between her eyes and her lips would press to form a slight line.

She would always tell me that wasn't a good thing, and then she would smile easily, holding
that expression longer as if the other one brought in unwanted feelings. It was like her
face and feelings were the same? If she was mad, I'd see it there, if she was happy she
would smile.

Tonight, I was standing on the roof of this place she called our home, I wasn't wearing any
night clothing, just pants and a blue shirt that matched this beautiful sky. My gaze was up at
the moon, it shined full and bright, hemorhaging its soft light into the deep, velvet indigo
horizon. I found peace here, watching the sky, even when the sun would rise casting its
water color oranges, pinks and violets into the sky, like a painting Susan owned on the
wall. Though nothing could compare to the real thing.

And somehow, I felt it tugging at my very being, like I belonged up there somewhere in
the endless blue.

"I wonder how the golded eyed girl is doing... I hope that she is well." I heard myself say
with a sigh, I wanted to be with her, I wanted to know about her. She's been on my
mind all day and even now, making it even more harder to try and sleep. If I ever could.

I let out a soft sigh, gazing longingly through my window and up toward the bright,
comforting moon. It's soft luminescence seemed to reach every part of the sky,
and as I began to count the stars in an attempt to fall asleep I could not help but
think back to the man that had saved me today--the man with eyes like the sea.

I wondered what he were doing right now, and I wondered if he were thinking
of me as well. Back in the hospital he'd seemed like he did not want to leave my
side, and in all honestly I did not want him to leave either. I wanted to know more
about him. I wanted to know his name, I wanted to know his likes, his dislikes, his
dreams, his desires--but most of all, I wanted to know why he saved me. I noticed
the hesitation in his eyes as he was met with the scene, and as the ratty man continued
to shove me against the cold, brick wall I almost thought he was going to continue
by without a second glance. I remembered closing my eyes, swallowing the lump in
my throat, and preparing myself for the worst. My soft eyelashes had dropped, my lids
squeezed tightly shut, my lips pursed--and in an instant he was by my side, swiftly taking
a hold of the thief and tearing him away from me. The violence that followed was not
malicious. In fact, as the criminal darted off and his cerulean eyes met mine, I could
see the shock in his eyes. He did not mean it. He was only protecting me. Protecting
an absolute, complete stranger. And even after I'd slipped into unconsciousness, he
still accompanied me to the hospital to make sure I'd come out alright.

And that soft, glowing light? I had so many questions, yet I would never be given the
answers I wanted.

"I probably will never see him again..."

I shifted my eyes to the alarm clock beside my bed, letting out another, frustrated sigh.
I'd managed to put my little brother to sleep hours ago, despite his distress over the events
that had taken place today. I'd come home and he instantly scooped me into his arms,
sobbing into my chest and squeezing me with as much force as he could muster.

My brother...well, he was the only thing I had left, and I the only thing he had left. I felt
guilty for making him worry so...

I shifted in my bed, rolling over onto my stomach so I could get a better view of the moon
above. I wondered if he, too, could not sleep. Was he gazing up at the star speckled sky
the same as I was?

The night was deep and still, but my guardian's sense was tingling at the base of my skull.
I could distinctly pick up the irregular vibrations of restless, negative energy dispersed
throughout the neighborhood. More specifically within the vicinity of her home. The girl
with the sun in her beautiful irises. I didn't know when or how it had occurred to me, Per-
haps in that instant that her eyes had locked with mine back at the alley when she had
been attacked by the man in the mask, I'd decided then and there that I wanted to pro-
tect her. Not just at that fleeting moment, but as long as I lived on this earth.

Moving off the Pierce's roof top, I ambled to the ground with ease and a speed that
utterly surprised me. I fell into a smooth rhythm, my body memory adjusting to the
situation as if I'd done this many times before. I ran through the streets, now less pop-
ulated with traffic, leaving a wake of strong breeze behind as I approached what would
be her property.

And I found a few more visitors as well, but none of them were normal by any standards
all six of their faces were a strange sight. So bizarre and must I say frightening! And nothing
much ever did. That was saying lots. My mind jumpstarted with odds the instant images of
those monstrous human figures moved to the house arrived from my retinas. They were
in the act of breaking in, and by my quick assessment, not to say a friendly hello. There
was only one thing to do. No choice left.

I dove after them.

Tackling one man to the ground I instinctively clapped my palm over the man's forehead,
as if trying to hide his image, and then something oddly remarkable happened in less than
5 seconds: at the instant contact, Celestial sparks erupted from my skin, hot and forceful
sinking into the man's flesh. His eyes beamed the lights like twin orbs, and his mouth
opened and he released a sheer scream of agony, the light escaped his parted jaws as well.
The smell of burning flesh filled my nose, it was terrible, and the man began to spasm,
the shock travelling across his bony chest. His back arched until I thought it would snap,
than the human -no, demon possessed vessel- my memories provided, fell to the ground.
Dead.

It was unbelievable! I was shocked, and that was all the stimulus I needed for total recall.
I knew who I was.
I knew my purpose.

With the assuredness and accuracy programmed within my mark-up I handled the situation
comprehensively; touching my palm to each and every one of the demons in seconds,
driving them out in the same fashion as I had done with the first. They all joined their
leader on the ground.

I felt no remorse, for I was completing my mission. I still served the Lord.
I remembered everything, I had willingly fell from Heaven, forsaking my connection
to them all, choosing instead to remain an outsider on Earth and protect her.
Protect Hazel.

I straightened, looking down for a moment at my hand as if I'd find something there.
Something different? But it was just my vessel's hand, nothing special. Though I was
aware now of just how extraordinary I was, and always would be.

"You killed those men!" A female voice suddenly came from behind me, redirecting my
attention to a new face. She held a small silver device in her hand, held it at her ear, and I
recognized it's function and purpose for having been drawn. She was hailing the police. I did
not need that now, all they did was interrupt and never really did a good job, making things
worse for me. Not tonight. Before she could utter another syllable I appeared before her,
bringing double digits to the space above her brows I sent her mind into an unconscious state
and caught her falling wisp of a frame before it struck the unforgiving pavement. I laid her
down on the recently mowed lawn. I then picked up her mobile and hung up on the operator.
She would soon be sending them anyways.

Now to locate and secure my Principal.

I turned away from the lady and followed after Hazel's soul wavelength which lead me
directly to her sleeping quarters. My angel wings announced my indiscreet appearance
with a ruffle of feathers, a sound that barely disturbed the air. I stood within the centre
of her room, watching her in the brief moment it took for her mind to register my sudden
unprecedented entrance. Time was the enemy here and I had to relocate her to a safe
place far away from here and hide her with the effective use of Enochian Sigils, a practical
and permanent procedure that would hide her from all creations of angels and demons to
keep her potentially safe.

"Hazel," My tone deep and authoritative, not at all what I meant for it to sound, but that's
the way I spoke. My intentions were to gain her trust , and reassure she was safe--not
give her a heart attack! But I'm afraid I had no time for proper introductions, her life was
at stake, soon more demons would come to claim her. Not to mention law enforcement. I
in no way planned on having to come up with a suitable excuse for why I was here and why
the men outside were incinerated from within.

I moved closer to her, my hand reaching for her, "I'm here to protect you, we have to--" The
rest of my statement was snatched from my throat as a powerful aura suddenly weighed down
on me, halting my movement. Was this the Lord? Or something else? Of course, things never
operated as smoothly as I'd desired. It could only get worse from here.
